What can i do with a minor in fashion merchandising and a major in business with an emphasis in management?

0 ความคิดเห็น

okay so i've asked a question like this before, but its worded better through this one.

can i still get into the fashion industry with a major in business management? because fashion is where i want to be but i want to major in business because i feel i'll have more options.

what exactly does a minor do? do i get a degree or something. i'm not exactly sure of what it does.

will i be able to get a job through the fashion merchandising program? or the business program? or both?

Yeah, you still can get into the fashion industry with a degree in management. Fashion isnt all about runways, models and the latest trends. There is a lot of business going on in the fashion industry and with a minor in fashion and a major business, you have knowledge of pretty much all aspects of the fashion industry.

sounds to me like you could open your own boutique or manage a boutique, probrably even be a buyer. i think you can do whatever you want -minor means you have extended education in that field, more than someone who just took one or two classes, for example. its like a second major. good luck!

What is the difference between Fashion Marketing and Fashion Management?

0 ความคิดเห็น

Which one would you recommend?

The management part of fashion comprises planning, organizing, resourcing, leading or directing, and controlling an organization (a group of one or more people or entities) or effort for the purpose of accomplishing a goal. Resourcing encompasses the deployment and manipulation of human resources, financial resources, technological resources, and natural resources.

--------------------------------------...

The marketing part is an ongoing process of planning and executing the marketing mix (Product, Price, Place, Promotion often referred to as the 4 Ps) for products, services or ideas to create exchange between individuals and organizations.

Marketing tends to be seen as a creative industry, which includes advertising, distribution and selling. It is also concerned with anticipating the customers' future needs and wants, which are often discovered through market research.

Essentially, marketing is the process of creating or directing an organization to be successful in selling a product or service that people not only desire, but are willing to buy.

Therefore good marketing must be able to create a "proposition" or set of benefits for the end customer that delivers value through products or services.

------------------------

If you like to have fun and be creative and do something different almost everyday, choose Fashion Marketing, else choose Fashion Management.

What is the best college for Fashion Magazine Management?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I am a sophmore in college and am looking for a new college since my current school doen't offer fashion magazine management specificly. Do you have any advice on schools. I would prefer to go to school LA or NYC due to high volume of internships available.

I have never heard of ANY school offering a degree in fashion magazine management, and I would hope that no such program exists. It isn't that I have a problem with fashion magazines, but that there are so few of them, and each hires so few managers, that they would be putting out graduates who didn't have any chance at getting a job after a couple of years. What you need is a school with a program in journalism, not fashion magazine management!

What is the best fashion management/marketing/merchandi… School/University in New York City? in the USA?

I'm not looking into fashion design, only into fashion management and so on. Please refrain from posting schools and universities that do not offer "fashion management/marketing/merchandising" courses. Thank You.

Parsons, the New School For Design offers fashion marketing, design & management, and product development as areas of concentration. It is very well regarded.

Fashion Institute of Technology covers not only the design, but also the merchandising, marketing and management aspects. It is also considered to be quite good in this field.

Pratt is the one that is more specifically design oriented (including fashion design), and in that field it is very strong.

How do I go about finding a job as a writer? My areas of interest are fashion & beauty, cooking, religion?

0 ความคิดเห็น

& the martial arts. I've also written about pest management, paper and healthcare. But in truth I'm a generalist. Lots of people make their livings as writers. How do I begin?

The beauty of the information age is that you can contact periodicals via email.

I would begin by editing a College Newspaper, write articles for Magazines.

Write in to your favorite Magazines, write Opinion Editorials, Send out a Curriculum Vitae and enclose copies of some of your best and most relevant articles for the job.

Many Hip-Hop sites and Magazines are always looking for writers, you say you are into Fashion, there is your start. Most writers avoid this venue due to the reputation, I see it as an opportunity.

Good luck

Your best bet to make money as a writer is to freelance. The following site has some links to services that have freelance writing opportunities where you can browse assignments and then offer to do the job and negotiate your pay. Good luck.

Would it be smart to get an mba from fashion school as oppose to a business school?

0 ความคิดเห็น

i currently work in retail industry doing finance and would like to advance my career possibly get into managerial or project management. i've been wanting to get anMBA ever since i graduated college 4 years ago and i found a program at a fashion school offering an MBA. would this be beneficial or would i be better off getting my degree from a Business School vs fashion school???

NO, it wouldnt be beneficial. You are better off at a actual business school (and aim for the top ones) because MBA programs at those fashion schools are meaningless, worthless and the employers wont value it. Why would an employer want a graduate from a school that isnt even related to the major, especially when they can hire an MBA grad from a good business school that has retail experience?

That really depends on what industry you are in, and what industry you WISH to be in. If you want to be in the fashion industry, then I would definitely suggest the fashion school's MBA program. Also, if you don't want to be in fashion, some fashion school's have well-known business programs, as well. I would suggest looking at the notoriety of the schools. Upon looking there, you will see what schools offer what you want. Look at the courses listed, as well. From there, you can definitely see what it is that you want to do, and what school to go to.

Visual Merchandising or Fashion Marketing?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm going back to fashion school but I don't know what to major in. I was doing fashion marketing and management, but the school I chose now also offers visual merchandising as a major as well. I like both directions but just unsure which one to declare.

{Also, I'm planning on starting my own fashion line later (maybe early 30's)}

Do Visual. It is so new that you could be free to actually work in the industry and get credit..

It depends:

Im sure you are creative so thats a plus.

Fashion marketing/management is excellent if you want to work more on the business, marketing, sales side. There are plenty of jobs available for a fashion marketer.

Visual merchandising is interesting too if you want to focus on creative displays and stay away from numbers and dealing with people.

ON MY WAY TO BECOME A FASHION DESIGNER.?

0 ความคิดเห็น

so i want to go to The Art Institute, and there are different career pathway things for

fashion design

and fashion management.

i want to design and make my own story and sell .

but that requires fashion management.

should i complete one and take the other also?

YES, both! Being creative is great fun, but you really have to know the ins & outs of business. A lot of artists, whether they are painting on canvas or designing a gown, can fall by the wayside if they don't at least understand the less fun side of keeping your books in order or having a steady cash flow, etc. Good Luck

i think you should do what you think is fun because my mum said that if she could go back she would go and do something fun while she was at school i think shes right but luckily she got a job that envolved science (the course she took)

so all in all i think you should just do the most fun thing you can then for your job make it involve that

I would definitely do both. Of course, being creative and having an artistic eye is crucial, but having some business skills to market yourself is equally as important. I hope you love what you do and never lose your inspiration! Best wishes :]

Do what you want to do.

What if the courses you choose in the UCAS apply sistem are two very different sectors?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I was wondering....

What if you choose courses like fashion management and psychology?

How should my personal statement look like?

I mean, they are two very different areas. How could I cope with that in the statement part?

This could be a real problem, If your personal statement not terribly directed to the subject the departments could just reject you. You should think carefully about why you rea intersted in such different areas and if this is the best idea. Perhaps focus on your A-Levels if they are relevent (ie if you did fashion or psych) or on psych in a way that will help you in management (ie want to work with people, understand them etc) so you cover both bases. You should think about wich one you want to do more and focus more on that so you are more likely to get your first choice. Always remember that you could go thrugh clearing if you don't get what you want/ change your mind so you will have a second chance.

Good luck

First of all, you should refer to the subjects as "the area of study", "subject" etc eg. I have always had a keen interest in this area/field/subject

Secondly, keep it as broad as possible whilst showing you're keen. For example:

-I like to keep up to date with developments in the media. If you had a look around, you might even be able to find an article which links what people wear to how the behave/what their personality is. Then you could name drop it, say briefly WHY you found it interesting, and you'd sound really keen AND kill two birds with one stone.

Admissions tutors are aware that candidates apply for different subjects and of course, being a 'blind application', one university doesn't know where else and for what else you've applied.

Centre the statement primarily around your personal skills: eg. analytical skills, good listener, team worker.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

Is it better to study fashion journalism in Italy or Paris?

0 ความคิดเห็น

My parents are giving me a choice of any school and they'll send me there IF i get accepted.I have a hard time choosing the place.I want to study Fashion journalism and business marketing and management.

I'd say London . . . but why not apply to both, if you get accepted by both, then you have a choice. If say, one school has already accepted their limit of students, you can go to the other.

Paris is the fashion capital of the world. ( so i'm told )

Both are fantastic cities. Paris is great for studying fashion. Italy is also filled with fashion. Florence has the house of Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, etc. I knew some girls working in Florence as an intern(is that how you call it.?).

Depends what kind of fashion you would like to study. Italy is more womanly and Paris more androgynous.

Italy would be my pick

1st choice would be Paris.... but you said change to London

both are great place for resources

Each city has its own unique styles and tastes, its own independent fashions. Look through both.. which influences/captivates you most?

Listen to your heart.

How can I become a fashion buyer?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I have been working within the fashion retail industry with various fast growing companies for the last 6 years. However, I have now returned to study and completed my College law, business and management studies and now studying a degree. Are there any fast tracks to becoming a fashion buyer. Being a geek is depressing me!!!!!

To Becoming a Fashion Buyer- is to CONTINUE your Education *(more PREFERRABLY- Business Administration)*

and continue working in the RETAIL Industry to gain *(WORK EXPERIENCE)*

and after another 8 years of Working- CHECK OUT:::

Fashion World-

Located in San Dusky, CALIFORNIA-

Telephone Number:: (303) 334-5432

*(They HIRE Retail Workers of 6 to 8 Years of Work Experinece)*

to begin to WORK and BE TRAINED as a FASHION BUYER

Continue your PRESERVATION-

and look to become a FASHION BUYER

GOOD LUCK-

If you can get into Fashion product development and prove that you know what sells, that's quite the fast track. The problem, however, is that if you were a designer, would you really want to work in Purchasing?

If this is what you want to do, then a must is take classes in college to do this, it will show you a lot of things that you really do not know. You will find a lot better ways to do things. You can work for yourself after all companies our out for them self you know.

Well, what about Fashion Business? :)

Seneca College (in Toronto) offers a great program that is exactly that. Here's the link: http://www.senecac.on.ca/fulltime/FAB.html

I have a friend who has just moved to TO and started this program.

If you're looking to go to university, Ryerson (also in Toronto) is known for it's fashion program: http://www.ryerson.ca/undergraduate/admission/programs/fashion.html

U of T, where I myself will soon be headed, has an excellent business school: http://www.rotman.utoronto.ca/index.html

You should be abble to mix-and-match courses at both of these schools so that you get both fashion and business - it just depends on what you want to focus more.

As for courses, take maths/computers/business for business, and communications/design/art for fashion.

Good luck!

well first off since you like fashion and you want to get in the business you probably going to have to have a major in business management...it depends on what department of the fashion industry you would like to work in like if you want to sell your clothes or others? they definitely benefit off each other!

What type of degree would I need in order to become a fashion buyer?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm in my third year of college and I'm a Marketing and Management Major, but I was wondering if I can become a fashion buyer with that degree

Well, you are almost done with your degree, aren´t you?

Perhaps if you had started with "Commerce of Arts and Sciences" that will be applicable, too.

You would need a ba in business and marketing and if possible some class in fashion or the fashion industry

Marketing is the right area. If your school has a fashion design program, that would have made a good minor, along with business.

What are some good top notch careers in the fashion or music business?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I took an assessment test and it says i would be good at management/ entrepeneurship/ceo etc. The thing is, I love music, its my passion. Same with fashion design. Anyone know any careers in either of those fields having to do with management/ceo etc, and the stepping stones to get there???

Yes, it is best to make sure you have the basic qualifications such as the education and the training for the field you are interested in. A degree in visual arts, fashion, business, or something of the like shall be required. While you are in school, take a summer internship program in fashion or the music industry so that you can establish contacts and learn customer service as well as the ropes of the trade.

Once you graduate, the same industry you had an internship for may offer you a full-time position. From there you work hard, make contacts, and more up according to your aptitude.

There are book in the library that can help you learn more about each industry. The more recent the books are, the better. Read them and take notes.

Moreover, to scope out the jobs, check: www.entertainmentcareers.net That's a great start. See what qualifications they want.

Often it is helpful to work as a receptionist for a company for the summer or as an assistant to a fashion designer or an assistant for an A&R rep.

Make sure to have a good resume and polish your interviewing skills. The books from the library should help. If you can't find what you want there, check amazon.com.

Need help! How to market and advertise my fashion wholesale business?

We do garment development, production management, quality assurance, and shipping arrangement.

Our production line is in China, so our prices are reasonable. Also, we are happy to work with small orders.

Now I have a question, me and my friend want to spread this business to the public. What’s the most economical way in marketing and advertising our this small business?

I've personally found myspace to be a great way to advertise my business.

I also specialize in promotional poducts which people love FREE stuff. You might want to consider investing in giveaways for people, something with your logo, etc. Also, start an email newsletter, gave up emails from friends, family, online and send an email introducing your business. First off make sure that you can indentify your very narrow target market. You should actually be able to buy a list of the hottest prospects - get the list and then, go to your existing customers and see how many of them might know prospects on the list and are willing to make introductions.

Then start inviting several prospects to an online or in person trends in garmet development workshops.

You've got to have a blog to spread your knowledge and epertise as well.

Can I get a Master's in Fashion (Merchandising or Design) with a BS in Supply Chain Management or Marketing?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I am currently attending a top 25 business school on a pretty generous scholarship. I am considering majoring in Supply Chain Management (with a possible double major in Marketing). However,i am really interested in fashion and have considered going to fashion school more than one. Unfortunately, my school does not offer Fashion Merchandising as a major :( sad day, I know. So my plan is to graduate with a BS in Supply Chain Management (my school is supposed to be the 2nd best university for it), and then maybe go on to fashion school. My question is, is it possible to get a Master's in Fashion Merchandising or Design even though my undergrad major was sort of unrelated? I am unsure of how Master programs work. Thank you.

Oh and do you think Supply Chain Management is a good major as preparation? Sort of fashion related? Thanks.

Supply Chain Management is a good major if you plan on working in fashion merchandising. As a merchandiser you are in charge of the development, distribution, logistics, sourcing, payment, and contracts for your merchandise; so Supply Chain Management is definitely related to fashion. If you want to learn more about fashion, my suggestion would be to get an associate's in fashion design or to do some internships in the fashion industry.

Most colleges don't offer masters programs in fashion merchandising or design, but I know that F.I.T. has a masters program in global fashion management and they also have a one year associate program in fashion design for people that have already fulfilled liberal arts requirements or bachelor degrees.

Yes, you can. Grad schools look at your work experience along with your undergrad work. Minor in fashion or art or family consumer science or a related field. Also work and/or volunteer in the fashion industry for some real world experience.

For Florida residents: What are some good growth management solutions for your community?

0 ความคิดเห็น

More road building was proposed in the Tampa Bay area. To take some pressure off of our super clogged roads. A major highway project that would connect Tampa to the rest of Hillsborough and Pinellas county. In other words, connecting the city to the suburbs. It has been criticized because many folks want a true mass transit system here instead of cars. Also, the ones on the county commissioner's board are major landowners and would benefit greatly from the sale of land in this project. And I mean millions. In other words, old fashioned Florida corruptness. Another growth management technique is impact fees that go to benefit the schools in Pinellas county. New residents move in and must pay a lump sum of a few thousand dollars to offset the damage that growth does. What are some techniques in your community? This place is growing FAST!

I live in the Tampa Bay area, and I wish I knew.

Retail / Merchandise Management courses in Australia?

0 ความคิดเห็น

Would like to know the universities in australia which offers coureses in Retail management , merchandise management , fashion management , Brand management . Can someone pls help.

G'day

There are very few universities in Australia specialised specifically in those areas, but I would say that they most likely be included in either the management or marketing majors in Business/Commerce courses.

There are only 41 universities in Australia, all of them are fully accredited and they are tightly controlled, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The most important thing is you have to READ the course information carefully, since some courses may have the same name but different content.

To find out the course that you are taking and where it is offered, I suggest you to go to IDP Education Australia website (www.idp.edu.au). IDP is an organisation that gives information to international students who wants to continue their study in Australia. Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification (in English and original language). The process will take abt 2-3weeks, depending on the time of the year.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your studies :)

You can find top listing of US photography and music courses in internet - http://uscolleges.fateback.com - It also has detailed info about each, tips to apply and which salary should you expect - to comparison.

Can I still be a fashion merchandiser?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I want to go to a fashion school so I can eventually seek a career in fashion marketing/merchandising; however, I live in the Washington D.C. area and there really aren't any fashion schools here that I know about. There's The Art Institute of Washington that's in Virginia, but they only offer a degree in Fashion & Retail Management. Programs offering a degree in merchandising are located far from where I live and I can't relocate. So, can I still go into the field I want with a degree in Fashion & Retail Management?

I would check to see what the focus of that program is. If they train you to be a buyer or a store manager, rather than a merchandiser, then it may not be the best program for you.

Are you a student at FIDM? Fashion student? Business Management?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I would like to ask you some questions.

i am! contact me

please what ever you do dont go to this school unless you want to be a fashion designers assistant. People don't even learn college level math which i guarantee you will be essential in business management. Take off the rose colored glasses and see the schools for what it really is. For gosh sake Lauren Conrad went to this school and lets face it she is as dumb as dirt and only gets by on her money and looks I'm still wondering why she even went to college. If you're going to study business management just go to a public university and be a bachelors degree not an associates degree. People don't take associates degrees seriously and especially not one in business. If you must go to a private art school go to a community college for 2 years and transfer The Art Institute which at least offers a Bachelors degree.

Whcich college is good at fashion marketing? Humber or George Brown?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I'm gonna take the program of fashion arts(marketing) in Humber College. But I'm also thinking about the fashion management in George Brown. I wanna know which college is better in fashion education? Actually I've compared the two courses and I prefer to the Humber one. But I'm an international student and I have no idea about the reputation between the two schools. Please give me advise. Thanks a lot!

I don't really know specifically about the program you want to go to but Humber apparently has a very good reputation. I'm going for Business - Marketing at Humber for that very reason. Take a look at the Macleans survey comparing Ontario colleges and why not visit the campuses :)

http://oncampus.macleans.ca/education/2008/04/22/student-satisfaction-rate/

Humber has the highest student satisfaction rate for the GTA. George Brown though is way at the bottom

At what colleges can I study fashion design, merchandising, and/or retail management?

0 ความคิดเห็น

It could be any college. I would prefer a campus near Illinois or New York city. But remember it could be any college in the U.S.

Academy of Art, American Intercontinental university, The Art Institute and some other colleges can help you in this regard. I'm giving you a link where you can find more about the possibilities and also apply for online fashion design degree.

Best of luck!

What is fashion marketing & management? what does a person in that field doooo?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I think you may mean Fashion Marketing & Merchandising.

Here's the nickle version of a reply:

Fashion MARKETING is the practice of advertising fashion (clothing, jewelry, leather goods, accessories, etc.) to select audiences.

Fashion MERCHANDISING is the practice of identifying and/or producing select products for a particular customer base.

For example, in the jewelry business, MERCHANDISERS determine which products they want to purchase from vendors and manufacturers and how much they want to sell them for. Then, it is up to the MARKETING department to determine how to present those products in front of the right buying audience.

This is a very simplified answer to your query. I hope it helps you.

How good is FIT's (Fashion institute of technology) Advertising and Marketing communications major?

0 ความคิดเห็น

How are the majors such as advertising and marketing communications, and fashion merchandising management at FIT, seeing that is is more well known for their fashion design program. How are the job possibilities after graduation from FIT with a bachelors in one of those two majors?

Thanks for any help that can be given!!

i have the same question as you. i applied to FIT for advertising and Mktg communications. FIT is well known and if your looking to get a job in the fashion industry then your making the right choice by applying there. other good fashion schools in the area like parsons and LIM are also have the same majors, more or less.

Does ne 1 go to the london college of fashion? Is it hard to get accepted onto the fashion management course?

0 ความคิดเห็น

i tried to apply this year but unfortunately had to decline it as something came up with my family.

it is pretty hard to get in when you have an interview be prepared for hard questions which they give you on purpose to catch you out. you need to be really enthusiastic about the course aswell.

remember why should they pick you out of fifty other people? Stand out and good luck!

(There is a fashion managment course in Brighton which is suposed to be excelent!)

I would soo love to study there! It is my dream, I want to do the Fashion management course aswell, then study fashion buying in the second year!I so hope I can get in!It sounds amazing! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/accuse_write?qid=20060627082858AACIi66&kid=JYBvK0HjG0.EabkPdRwt&s=comm&date=2007-03-04+14%3A16%3A01&.crumb=

What should I study to become a fashion buyer?

0 ความคิดเห็น

There are universities that offer Fashion Marketing Management degrees which cover fashion buying and I'd love to do that but there aren't many universities that offer it and I don't want to limit myself to two or three universities.

So, what other degrees would help me pursue a career in fashion buying? I'm thinking Retail Management but is there anything else because there aren't that many universities that offer that either.

Based on my prior knowledge and research, fashion merchandising is a perfect degree to obtain for that career (1st link). Be sure to research the specific curriculum required for the program you choose to make sure you'll be sufficiently interested and challenged.

Retail management is also a wise choice! Check out both programs and see which is more appealing.

Good luck.

Universities with majors in fashion marketing?

0 ความคิดเห็น

My friend and I are planning to move out to california next year. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what good state universities (not community colleges) carry majors in business marketing leaning more toward the fashion area... so i guess fashion management ? I want to work for a fashion company such as vogue, guess, gucci, etc or some other leading business.

Thanks for the advice :)

In L.A., there is California Design College--they have a degree in Fashion Marketing. (http://www.artschool.com/losangeles/?pid=276)

In San Francisco, there is The Art Institute of California â€" San Francisco--they also have a degree in Fashion Marketing. http://www.artschool.com/sanfrancisco/?pid=382

What pays more, social work or PR/fashion buying?

0 ความคิดเห็น

I have the choice of doing either a degree in social work or one in fashion management ,which would lead to PR/buying, I will work in London, I was wondering which is better paid, overall and at entry level and what are my chances of finding work in each career? Thanks!

In the US social work generally requires an advanced degree. The work is hard, but I think there is demand for qualified applicants. It is not a field that people go into for the pay.

Fashion obviously can be lucrative for those at the top. However it is something that requires a great deal of passion and luck to reach that point.

Social work is probably the more practical of the two degrees, but both require passion to be successful.

The link can give you job outlooks and descriptons for pretty much any field(it is for the US).

both good

I work in social work and if you are in it for the money then pursue your Master's degree. With a Master's degree you can become a supervisor and you'll receive better pay. Social Work is for those who expect to work long hours and not receive much in terms of pay, yet want to help others.

If you want to become a Buyer then I would say Fashion Merchandising. Here in the USA you can become an entry-level Buyer and work your way up to Senior Buyer.

good

paid wise i wouldnt be too sure but looking realistically i would have said with an appropriate qualification in social work you would have no difficulty regarding fashion management I would have thought that would be alot more difficult maybe overall more people chasing for the one job ..... would say you would have to have great level in degree for that one. But overall I think you have to decide which you personally would prefer to do go with your heart as if you enjoy your job you are more likely to be more sucessful in the long run.

They are totally two different worlds. You have to decide not based on salary or job opportunities, but in your philosophy of life. Social Work, in general, is less money, really hard and could be also very rewarding. The fashion industry is very superficial, extremely competitive, could be very hard as well but in a different sense. If you make it you can make good money.

Decide your priorities and think in terms of what will fulfill you more as a person and take a decision based on your values.

Social work.

Fashion is a ***** of an industry to get into. It really is not what you know but who you know. Most firms will find girls/guys who will work for free/minimum wage for experience then when they want more money they get laid off and the next wave will come through. All the ones who have experience will be fighting it out for the small amount of well paid jobs. If you get through though you can earn a good wage, dress in the latest trends and hang out with the models in the trendy bars although that does get depressing - trust me, its like zoolander. P.R is the same deal exept there are more jobs to be had i believe but you can end up working your *** off for a lousy wage and a boss who wants more and more. On the flip side you get to hang out with some famous people / cater to their every whim and get free drinks in cool bars but that loses its appeal for a while too i would guess.

I used to do a lot of modelling and we get used like meat but we get paid heaps of cash to stand and pout so we never moan (thats a lie) about that. But i really feel sorry for the people who have the intelligent jobs as they get paid less and work harder but get none of the credit. Behind the scenes it is all P.R, spin and lies and lots of bitching and backstabbing, you have no idea who you can count on as a friend. On the plus side there are lots of freebies, good parties, plenty of drink/drugs/sex and sometimes knowing the real truth what the papers do not print.

It all depends on what you want from your life. If you want to look good and be part of the scene and rely on freebies then go for P.R, if you care about fashion more than anything and think you can cut it (and i mean really really want to do it) then go for fashion. If you want a stable life then go into social work.

See you around kid.

McFly

Go with fashion. You obviously have no interest in social work.

Financially or Spirtually?

Financially PR/Fashion will eventually pay better, but you will need to break into it first!

Fashion design/management? ?

i'm having a really hard time choosing a major. i've been through a few and NOTHING catches my eye. currently i'm studying occupational therapy, but i don't want to anymore. i was thinking international business, but i heard it's too broad of a degree, and probably would do no good unless i specialize in something, but at my university if you're part of the professional business school you only have a major, not a minor.

fashion design has always been interesting to me, but i know that it's hard to get a job.. that scares me, but i still want to do it. i just don't want to waste a degree.

what types of jobs would i be able to get with major in fashion design and minor in management?

thanks!

0 ความคิดเห็น

what do you think my annual salary would be after graduating ? and what jobs could i get ?

plz help me :D

It depends but the best thing to do is to be your own boss once you leave.

ADVICE

Theres no point studying all that good stuff to end up working for another person! Be different , make it biGGER being your own boss and employing people to do the work thats needs to be done.

A young girl made it big doing the same - customizing trainers for ordiany working people AND famous people in Hollywood. Her turover is in the thousands per year! Shes not earning the usual / basic £13000 + per year!

ALTERNATIVE

You can work to gain experience whilst working on doing your own thing.

plez help yourself

sky is the limit

If i go to csulb and major in business marketing or management with a minor in fashion merchandising will?

0 ความคิดเห็น

both programs be able to help me find a job?

probably. however the world of fashion merchandising and business marketing are very, VERY competative. A lot of people look for jobs in these areas. When you go to csulb, get good grades and as much field (or real-life ) experience as possible. Getting the experience while going to school will make it more likely for you to be a better, more marketable professional. Networking with your professors or at job fairs would also increase the probability of getting a job quicker.

When you get to csulb, you should go to the career center. they can help you get internships for your major/minor. Good luck.
